DEERFOOT
SUNDAY

BANG! Bastille Day is tomorrow but you can listen to music in its honor today outside Barbette.

We Americans are pretty dumb about foreign politics, so here's a little lesson.

The French President is named Nicolas Sarkozy. He's been President for a little over a year.

He is perhaps best known in this country for totally freaking out on American paparazzi while vacationing in New Hampshire.

His wife is very beautiful and has dated Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger.

He loves America but does not love Leslie Stahl.

He is a fun guy.

Bastille Day Celebration with The Sensational Joint Chiefs, Faux Jean, Romantica, One for the Team, Black Blondie and Foxy Tann and the Wham Bam Thank You Ma'ams @ Barbette, zero bucks, 4-10PM. Can't find a schedule for this anywhere. Um - show up at a randomly chosen time and hope your favorite band is serendipitously playing? I don't know what else to tell you.

Karaoke @ The Rock Nightclub (in that strip mall in Maplewood), zero bucks. Holy shit you know this will be good. Looks like this happens most Sundays when a touring band isn't coming through, you know, in case you can't afford the gas to get you out there tonight. You can bet your ass I'm checking this out before the end of the summer.

Nikki & the RueMates @ Red Stag, zero bucks, 9:00 with drink specials starting at 10.

Meg Ashling, Gabe Barnett and Jack Klatt and The Mill City Grinders @ Stasiu's, 5 bucks, 9:00.
